Keepsakes

I'm always looking for something new to try and this little box was found unfinished but with a blemish or two at one of my favorite Thrift Museums. I had aquired a bunch of old stamps a while back and knew as always happens that something would show itself needing a few old stamps and here was this little wooden box. I left the picture frame at the bottom loose so if you want you can insert your own vintage photo into it. The colors used for the box itself is my own secret combination technique of hand dying wood to give it a matte "old worn" look. As always, because I don't know the past life or experiences the materials have been subjected to, all materials are cleansed of any and all negative energies and incantations are enabled to insure a positive flow of energy radiating from the piece.

Mars rules Tuesday and the energies of this day of the week are of a masculine vibration. Use this day for things associated with physical endurance, strength, sports or any type of competition. Yesterday, Monday was the best day to deal with women, home and family so if you didn't deal with those problems maybe you should wait until next Monday. Then again you should wait until Wednesday to try to communicate with friends using written and spoken words or dealing with matters such as study, learning or teaching because that day is ruled by Mercury and the power of words.

Marvin Gaye's song in 1971 lets one know that things are not that much different today. In his song "Mercy Mercy Me" he asks where did all the blue skies go? Poison is the wind that blows from the North and South and East. Things aren't as they used to be, Oil wasted on the ocean and up on our sea, Fish full of Mercury. What about this overcrowded land? How much more abuse from man can she stand? And that was almost forty years ago. We need to make a new rule, for every pound of cement that many pounds of plant life and trees must be planted within the same space! Can you imagine each building would have a huge park surrounding it and a grand floral terrace on top! I myself don't see that as a problem at all. For every ounce of water a big business ruins they have to clean up their own mess plus develop a purification plant in an area of need. Dream on sweet dreamers.

Ode to Autumn

The Autumn Equinox signals Earth and it's life forces at a waning stage when the days grow shorter. Our inner being is aware and influenced by this change also, even if we are not aware of it. It's an interesting fact that Johnny Appleseed was born today in 1774, he must have been overly aware of the coming of Winter and spent many years celebrating Spring and making sure that the apple trees were abundant.

Time

There is a time when we have to decide firmly on the direction we wish to take, or otherwise circumstances will make the decision for us, a quote by Herbert Prochnov. That is where I am now, not firmly making decisions but waiting on circumstances to make them for me. Maybe it's because fall is here and I like many of the plants are ready for a little rest. I think one has to stop and recharge the so called "batteries" on occasion and my time is usually Fall or Winter.

Incantations have always been a favored way of assisting folks from ancient times to the present day. There are powerful gemstones that can aid one in various ways, there are "power" colors and color psychology which in itself has been proven to change ones moods. There are oils who's fragrance is known to alter and calm the user and spices to be used in all manner of aromatherapy. The Spirit Keeper

This tiny Spirit Jar comes with it's own Spirit Jar Protector, the Spirit Keeper and she will protect the jar of spirits with her mystical talismans braided into her hair with tiny delicate copper wire. She used to be a Native Indian Doll of some type but at some time may have been abused because she wasn't in the best of shape. She has a bisque or maybe porcelain head and hands (how do you tell actually) and a fabric cloth body. She had to have a new fabric pancho designer top of tiny golden wire in swirls shaped like "8's" and lots of beads. Her pants are now painted on (because I am terrible at sewing) and her Moroccans have been repainted and beaded. She sits on a throne of medium sized sea shells of some type and has a silvered metal fish on a chain at her side, recycled from a belt which no longer fits my waist that I've had for a while.

I have been having a ton of fun recycling lately, I've been looking through all my perfumes, spray toiletries, bottles and jars. My choices are from 3 inches tall to about 5 inches because they will fit almost anywhere.

I embellish them with a colorful bottom which is an interesting art work itself of swirling silvers or golds then I add some beads, glass chips or polished rocks. I finish off the bottom with some colored ink which being water on enamel adds an interesting touch of color blast among the metallic swirls . When the inside dries I add wooden beads which have been aged for four years in dragons blood, herbs and scents for their protective elements. I have also added polished rocks, various gemstone chips, beads, shells and colors which reflect power to the inside of the jar.

A few incantations are added, just the right amount of dewdrops are added and just the right amount of moonlight to make sure the items and the jar is attractive to wayward fairies and spirits who, with nothing else to do like to play pranks such as hiding your car keys from you.
These jars are especially made to attract these little pranksters and give them a nice little place to play and distract them from playing their little tricks on humans. The jars are sealed shut (only fairies and spirits can enter them) using a decorative top of recycled jewelry pieces, buttons, chains, brooch pieces, and other odds and ends. The jars turn out beautiful and small enough to place anywhere, even in your car or your office space if you so wish (pranksters are everywhere you know). No fairies or spirits are harmed by these jars, they are just given a fun and entertaining place to play and they have so much fun they forget about playing their little tricks on humans.

Of course these jars are for adult entertainment only, and the maker is not responsible for any incidents regarding the breaking of said jar or bottle nor the escaping pranksters.

Pampered... by weirdoddities

A different way to advertise, dress up and play with my little dollies. Please bear with me I am working with Uncle Sam counting peeps for a few weeks and dodging muggers, territorial dogs and sidewalk cracks. It's taking it's toll on my blogging time. But remember, even though we are at our lowest in energy and we don't think that another drop can not be squeezed out Mother Nature will let a rainbow appear or make a funny cloud formation of Mickey Mouse to make us laugh and we realize that we can keep on trudging.

Energy Matters

What better way to conjure up some much needed energy than a spark of ginger, a Chinese medicine added to your drink or your bath water of alternating warm water and cool shower on your arms and legs after. The coolness of the water just on the legs and arms forces the blood back to the heart giving you the much needed boost for a stimulating energy boost rather than shocking your body. The ginger is good for aches and pains or colds and flu (also for the morning after hangover blues). I keep a bottle of water in the fridge with chopped up pieces of ginger in it and as I use up the ginger water I just fill it with more water and the next time I need ginger water there it is. One piece of ginger will continue to make ginger water for a long period of time if refrigerated properly, and can also be added to your favorite beverage.
